benIn July 2009, I graduated from City University, London and Queen Mary, University of London with a 2:1 in Journalism and Contemporary History. During my three years there, I was fortunate to be given a number of opportunities to meet and/or interview different journalists, media figures and sportsmen and these experiences have undoubtedly helped me become a better writer.

For eighteen months during my degree I was the sports editor of London Student, one of Europe’s largest student newspapers which had an annual circulation of 120,000. The newspaper was shortlisted for the National Union of Students’ awards that year and I was shortlisted for the Guardian’s Student Sports Writer in September 2008.

I have done work experience at national newspapers, such as The Guardian - where I researched parts of the 2009 Ashes supplement -  The Times and The Independent and also for other publications including The Wisden Cricketer.

This blog will include a mix of print and audio-based opinions – I enjoy discussing and debating the finer points of sport and I hope you will use the comment facility below each post.
