Fergie unfrightened
Watching clips of Sir Alex Ferguson’s press conference from yesterday, I was struck by the light-hearted nature in which he spoke. Chuckling, smiling and claiming “I think it will be decided tomorrow night”, the United manager was unusually upbeat about his side’s Champions League tie with Inter Milan this evening.
But then he has good reason to be. His army of players, from first team to reserves, are filled with quality and even he can see that United will be there or thereabouts for all of the four cups they’re challenging for this season. His dead-pan and serious press persona disappeared temporarily yesterday…perhaps he knows that his side are very unlikely to be beaten in Europe tonight, and in every game from now until the season’s close. Expect an attacking display tonight.
